Design as
a conduit
for change.
The aim of catfish is to provide creative solutions to organisations and not-for-profits
involved in conservation work, improving habitats, recycling innovation and sustainability. As the messages and experiences we create pass through the hands, minds, and hearts of people, we have an opportunity to weave sustainability into the broader fabric of culture and to shift consumption and lifestyle aspirations to a more sustainable basis for living.

Passion &
Purpose.
They used to tank cod from Alaska all the way to China. They'd keep them in vats in the ship.
By the time the codfish reached China, the flesh was mush and tasteless. So a guy came up with the idea that if you put the cod in big vats, put some catfish in with them and the catfish will keep the cod agile. And there are those people who are catfish in life. And they keep you on your toes. They keep you guessing, they keep you thinking, they keep you fresh. And I thank god for the catfish because we would be droll, boring and dull if we didn't have somebody nipping at our fin.
Ideas Generation.
The best ideas are those so sparkling with simplicity that you wonder how you didn’t think them up yourself.
But it takes time and process to reach this level of clarity and purpose, as Winston Churchill used to quote Blaise Pascal when he wrote, “I didn’t have time to write a short letter so I wrote a long one instead”.
Catfish offers consultancy, idea generation sessions and workshops with clients on communications in conservation, focussing on the power of ideas, the strength of a captivating image and the universal language of simplicity.
Let’s have a latte.
World changing design ideas need fuel.
I like to meet with clients on a common ground, to design with not for and to engage non-design issues through design thinking. Coffee makes us think faster (and it tastes good), thinking and a feeling of engagement and satisfaction is what makes us unique as creative problem solvers.
My goal is not solely in the designing but engaging in human relationships. I design but I am not all about design. There is something more. Let’s sit down to talk through the brief, engage, react and understand.
Design on or offline.
I design for people and the planet, not awards..
Having said this, quality is always the objective. I am committed to compelling and innovative design solutions to and engage people to care and, as a result, drive positive change. Being a multi-disciplinary studio means that most any brief is achievable whether it be designing a new brand, a brochure, an app, a website or developing a communications strategy. Pooling resources and using the team is key, I have connections with fish in other seas to ensure we can achieve the best results together. Alone we are a drop… together an ocean.
